Join me as I embrace and share American country style by reclaiming the past...my family's past. Come along as I make my house a home on a $0 budget with reclaimed, repurposed, recycled and found treasures all out of my grandparent's old house, local junk shops and my parent's attic. And since we have to eat too, I'll sprinkle in some gardening, country recipes, and a whole lot of southern hospitality.

Random Saturday

My 11 year old had a birthday sleepover last night, and, since I cleaned yesterday, it was nice to wake up to a clean house this morning.

I love getting up before everyone else on weekends and enjoying the quietness.

The only thing you can hear is the creek.

...and, of course, this guy:-)

We are looking forward to dinner with some friends tonight and finally getting to see their new house.

Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. I love getting up before anyone else too. That quiet time and a cup of coffee mean so much as to how my day goes. Scripture and prayer and meditation keep me focused then I am onto "the to do list" which never ends.

Your room is beautiful and the scenery from your window is breathtaking. Your beautiful brass bowl with pressed glass is lovely. Is it a bowl within a bowl? Clever. Not sure pressed glass is the correct name. Love the mirror on mirror too. Your chandy is gorgeous and so are your photos.

  2. oh, I LUV LUV LUV that creek.........I can envision its banks loaded with Daffodils and Tulips and Crocus. That Rooster is awesome too... Reminds me of Key West vacation where the Roosters roam freely thru the streets and everyone is very protective of them........Lovely coloring on his feathers.........
