Even though the weather looked like rain, we were able to take all the wormy chestnut boards we needed for the counters today before the sky opened up. It's amazing how something that seems so simple and easy as taking boards off a house can drag on and on.
He took a crowbar and carefully pulled the boards away then tapped them back in and pulled the nails out. Lots of nails. Nails that have been in place for over 100 years. How cool is that?
We ended up with five good boards.
The next step is just brushing them up a bit so we can send them through the planer a
couple several times to get them even. I really wish we had a jointer to get the sides straight, but since we don't Luis will just use the router.
As excited as I was about the boards, my heart sank when UPS delivered the sink I ordered.
I'll tell you about that tomorrow. In the meantime, I'll be back online looking for a white, self-rimming sink at least 9"-10" deep and trying to decide between acrylic, cast iron, composite, and granite composite...in my price range. Yay.
Thanks for stopping by:-)
